So another Monday has come along, what are you going to do differently today to keep your energy up? How about adding some superfoods into your diet?

“Superfoods” is a general term that is used to describe foods that contain essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids and so much more!

What are some examples of a superfood? Well, we are glad you asked! Some of our favorite superfoods are berries like blueberries and strawberries, fish like salmon, and dark green vegetables like kale, spinach, and broccoli!

Superfoods have many known benefits including their ability to help increase the prevention of certain types of cancer, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Berries, along with most other dark colored and brightly-colored fruits and vegetables like leafy greens, are very high in antioxidants. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals in our bodies that can cause many types of diseases (free radicals also age us!). Salmon is a superfood that is known for its high omega-3 fatty acid content; decreasing bad cholesterol and increase the good cholesterol!

Do you include any of these superfoods in your everyday diet?
