It's National Iced Tea Month!

Did you know that June is National Iced Tea Month?  Iced tea is a great drink for summer - it’s lightly flavored, cool, and refreshing, but if you drink the wrong iced tea it can be a diet and energy disaster!  Many bottled iced teas have tons of added sugar, which will cause your blood sugar to spike and then drop, leaving you feeling drained.  Stay energized and hydrated this summer with delicious homemade unsweetened iced tea.  Here’s one of our favorite recipes:

Ingredients:
  • 4 quarts water
  • 10 individual raspberry zinger tea bags
  • 12 oz frozen raspberries
  • ¼ cup lime juice

Directions:
Boil water.
  • Add 6oz frozen raspberries.  Steep tea bags in water for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and raspberries and pour into a large pitcher.  Stir in lime juice.  Place in the fridge to cool (about 2 hours).
  • Once ready to serve, add the rest of the frozen raspberries and enjoy!

Do you make your own iced tea for hot summer days?
