Frozen Banana Chocolate Bites

By now you know that we’re girls who mean business when it comes to our sweets. 🙂  Although we do eat a well-balanced, wholesome diet, we are NOT girls who pass on a daily treat!  In fact, if we skip a daily indulgence, well, that means we’re probably fighting the flu or sick in bed.  Since we’re girls that love our sweets, we work hard to lighten them up (and sometimes we keep them small and bite-sized) as best we can (after all, we kind of have to if we want to indulge daily!)– you probably know this already if you’ve seen our posts like our Skinny Oreo Balls, our Chocolate Drizzled Granola Balls  or our Chocolate Coconut Chia Balls, just to name a few!

So here’s another one to add to the collection: these tasty treats are easy, satisfying, and simply delicious! And they’re pretty darn good for you to boot! If these don’t become your new besties we’ve got you all wrong! 🙂 And even if they don’t we think you’ll at the very least find them yummy. Give these nips a whirl and you just may never look back…

Whenever you have a sweet tooth craving, simply grab one of these and bust if for only 15 calories!

Added bonus? Even if you eat the entire thing, you get a healthy dessert that packs in 7 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber and bloat busting potassium from the bananas and the yogurt—great to balance any extra sodium you may have eaten!

Typically, we lighten up recipes and put a healthy twist on them and make them calorie-controlled, but when Tammy’s daughter, Summer, wanted Tammy to whip up these delicious treats for her in-school birthday celebration, we found out these were too good not to share! Plus, they’re so festive and perfect for the holidays!  Bring them to parties as a gift for your host or serve them at your own soiree!  And although Summer wanted Tammy to make the treat with two marshmallows per pop, Tammy axed them since one treat is just 60 waist-friendly calories!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients:
1 large sheet waxed paper
1 cup Chocolate Chips
2 cups whole large strawberries, about 17 Strawberries, rinsed and clean

Directions:
1. Cover a baking tray with waxed paper.
2. Melt chocolate chips either by using a double boiler, melting the chocolate in the top over simmering water until it is melted and smooth and then removing from hot water. Or if using a microwave, melt chocolate using a microwave safe container (timing varies by microwave, start with 45 second intervals and depending on your microwave, see if they need more time and slowly heat more.
3. Dip the strawberries about halfway into the melted chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off by gently shaking the strawberry.
4. Place strawberry on waxed paper and allow chocolate to set by placing them in the refrigerator. We got a little anxious the first time we made them and needed them to be ready sooner so we placed them in the freezer for about 10 minutes and then the fridge and that seemed to work well too. The setting of the chocolate may vary depending on your fridge, etc. but expect about half an hour.
5. Place them in Tupperware in the fridge if you aren’t serving within a couple of hours.

Here are some of our favorite guilt-free tricks and treats—and for fewer than 100 calories!

 Halloween Candy

  1. The best mini candy option? 3 musketeers have only 24 calories per mini!.
  1. Small Twix = 80 calories per bar!
  1. A true Halloween staple– one pack of fun size M&Ms has 90 calories.
  1. It may not be Christmas where you hope to get a kiss under the mistletoe, but this is one kiss that you won’t regret in the morning! One kiss is just 22 calories. So if you have the option between regular M&Ms and Hershey kisses, go with the kiss every time!
  1. Beware: sugar free. While they may have less sugar, they often will still rack up fat and calories. Sneaky Spooky!

Happy Halloween!

Enjoy!
