Frozen Veggies, The Solution for Brown Produce

  June 30, 2011  |    Blog

It’s summer and no one wants to spend all day shopping for dinner!

When you’re busy, it’s difficult to always have fresh produce in the fridge. And sometimes, after a day or two, that spinach you bought is wilted and the broccoli’s brown!

What’s the solution? We always keep family-sized bags of frozen vegetables in the freezer, just in case dinner rolls around and we need a quick and easy side dish.

Frozen vegetables like spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts are frozen at the peak of freshness, so they maintain their nutrient value. Buying frozen vegetables can also save you money. We know that sometimes, frozen vegetables seem inferior to their fresh counterparts- but trust us, they’re GOOD!

If you’re a frozen-veggie first timer, we recommend trying some frozen broccoli, thawing according to package details (either in the microwave or on the stove), and either drizzling with a couple teaspoons of olive oil and your favorite spices or eating it plain!

A delicious, nutritious side dish in under 10 minutes!
