Lately we’ve been loving “overnight oats” in the morning. Have you ever tried them? It’s a unique spin on classic oatmeal…and we think it’s to die for!
Breakfast is the meal that kick starts your day. And it certainly does so for us! Without breakfast, we’d both be tired and grouchy. And we get it. Sometimes when you wake up, you’re way too tired to even think about cooking a filling meal. Us too!
That’s why overnight oats are the best! All you need are your favorite rolled oats, your milk of choice, fruit, and maybe some Greek yogurt if you want an added protein boost, which we recommend for even longer lasting satiety.
Here’s what you do:
Mix 1 part oatmeal to 2 parts liquid and put in the fridge overnight. (We mix part yogurt, part milk for the liquid in ours). The oats absorb the liquid and in the morning, you have a big, stick-to-your-ribs bowl of delicious oatmeal waiting for you–no stovetop or microwave needed!
In the morning, we love adding a spoonful of peanut butter or a sprinkle of walnuts for satiety and a little good-for-you fat. It really keeps us full all morning, can’t beat that!
