Try these easy, yet delicious baked pears for dessert. They are nutritious and require minimal preparation—perfect if you are trying to contribute something in the last minute. Plus, they make an ideal light and healthy treat to wrap up your Thanksgiving dinner.

Bosc pears work great, yet any will do since pears are in season this time of year! Just core them and place them in the oven in a baking dish with apple juice and floating cinnamon sticks. You can leave the skin on to hold in the moisture, or if you decide to peel them feel free to baste them with the juice while they bake.

Place them upright and fill their centers with a dollop of your favorite jam or with nonfat Greek yogurt. Also honey and chopped walnuts, dried fruit or nut butter can be used to make them extra special. Set the oven to 325 F and bake for about 20-30 minutes or until tender. Yum…Enjoy!
