Drinking for Energy

Eating the right foods at the right times is very important for energy, but how about drinking for energy?

Drinks sometimes get swept under the rug but don’t let them be forgotten. Here are our Top Three that we drink to help us maintain our energy levels throughout our busy day!

  1. Water – This is the most important one. Everything in our bodies needs water to function, so water is one of the purest forms of energy! Aim to drink about 8 glasses of 8-oz of water per day.
  2. Herbal/Green Tea – Another great, natural energy drink is tea. Tea is packed with antioxidants that help mop up free radicals caused by toxins so our bodies can function at their peak. Tea helps to hydrate us and the caffeine in green tea gives us a little extra boost. Recent research has shown positive benefits of caffeine.
  3. Homemade Fruit Smoothies – It’s better to make your own than to buy from your local grocery store so that you know that there’s no added sugars or chemicals. Fruit is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are needed for energy and to convert your food into energy.
