Football Sunday!

It’s football Sunday! Whether you are a Giants, Cowboys, or Steelers’ fan, it’s your day to sit back, relax, and watch some football! But the real question is, what are you going to eat during the games? You’re going to need something energizing to stay awake for all of the games and root for your favorite players!

Some of our favorite energizing game time snacks are whole wheat tortilla chips with fire-hot salsa or whole wheat tortilla chips with corn and black bean guacamole! (Veggies actually are our #1 choice for dipping, but not everyone will go for that—so the whole wheat tortilla chips run close behind J

Make your own fire-hot salsa by grilling three large tomatoes (cut in half) and two jalapeño peppers. Once the veggies are grilled, place them in a food processor (or blender if you don’t have a food processor); add a pinch of pepper and two cloves of chopped garlic. Set to chunky, and enjoy!

To make the corn and black bean guacamole you will need:

  • 3 ripe avocados (remove skin and pit)
  • 1 cup of corn (thawed or fresh)
  • 15 ounces of rinsed black beans
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped onion
  • Lime juice to taste
  • Lemon juice to taste

Mix together all ingredients, either by hand or food processor (set to chunky). Enjoy!

What energizing game day snacks do you enjoy?
