Packing lunch saves money and can be much healthier than buying fast food! Here are some lunch swaps that will keep your energy level high and steer you away from the less healthy options that will weigh you down and cause that after-lunch slump:

Replace this: Cream cheese on a bagel

With this: Natural peanut butter on whole wheat bread

Why? The peanuts in the nut butter will boost fiber and protein and this is lower in saturated fat and won’t weigh you down like cream cheese

Replace this: Deli meat

With this: Sliced tofu, roasted meat

Why? Loaded with protein (to tide you over and keep your energy level high! or grilled chicken without the all the extra fat, sodium and cancer-causing nitrates

Replace this: Chips

With this: Popcorn

Why? 3 cups of air-popped popcorn is just 100 calories and provides a boost of fiber to extend the energy boost of the carbs
