Healthy Salad Dressings

March is National Nutrition Month! In honor, we have recipes for 4 easy homemade salad dressings to take the place of those calorie, sugar, and sodium-filled store bought brands. We’ll be sharing these recipes over the next few days.

Salads are a great way to get creative and make scrumptious creations and also a fantastic way to get in those necessary vitamins and minerals. Here are two delish salad dressing that won’t weigh you down or leave you feeling lethargic!

Creamy Caesar

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup plain fat-free yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp anchovy paste
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic

Directions:
Place all ingredients into blender and mix until well incorporated or combine in a bowl and mix well.

Italian

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Small squirt Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ each basil, thyme, & oregano
  • Salt/pepper to taste

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix until well incorporated OR place in a small jar and shake

(Remember, with all healthy fats like olive oil, calories do add up despite being good for your heart, so limit your portion to two tablespoons to keep calories in check.)
