Skinny Tea Lemonade

By now you know we are big fans of green tea.  It’s packed with anti-inflammatory nutrients that help to prevent every day stress and toxins from wreaking havoc on your body–goodbye skin-flare ups and internal puffiness caused by damaging foods. 
Plus, green tea contains an amino acid called theanine, which helps to create a state of alert calmness.   Calm = good, you won’t be on edge and overeat.  Plus, this tea is not only low in calories (just 15!) but it also takes the edge off hunger as it’s warm, calming and pacifying.  The lemon, lemon zest and honey complete this Skinny Tea Lemonade. Um, Yum!  We mean, um, hello Skinny Yum! 🙂
Skinny_Green_Tea_Lemonade

Skinny Tea Lemonade

Serves 1

Ingredients:

• 10 oz hot water

• 1 green tea teabag

• juice of one large lemon

• 1 teaspoon zest from lemon

• 1 teaspoon honey

 

Directions: 

1. Pour boiling water in a large tea cup and let tea steep for about 3 minutes.

2. Remove the tea bag, but squeeze it on the edge of the cup to drain it and keep all the good nutrients in your cup.

3. Stir in lemon juice and honey.

4. Once tea cooled a bit, stir in the lemon zest.

We like to drink this tea warm as we enjoy it this way the most– plus it’s helps to pacify and control appetite by taking the edge off hunger.
