Let In The Sunlight!

Do you find it hard to pull yourself out of bed in the morning? Try opening your blinds as soon as your alarm goes off! Exposing your body to natural sunlight in the morning sends a signal to your brain that it’s time to wake up. Sunlight plays an important role in circadian rhythms, so sunlight in the morning will help start your daily wake-sleep cycle off on the right foot!

As funny as it sounds (and looks!) Lyssie sleeps with an eye mask (with leopard print since it was the cutest one!) because her apartment lets in so much light. The light even comes through the blinds before 5am and disrupts her sleep. To get the natural light to boost her day, she simply takes off the mask when her alarm goes off. And voila, she’s refreshed! ☺

If your room is dark like most peoples try placing your alarm on your windowsill so when you get out of bed to turn it off you can pull open the blinds. An added bonus – sunlight exposure is linked to happiness!

Do you already open your blinds as soon as you get up?
