An apple a day, keeps the doctor away … well, maybe not, but apples are a delicious and nutritious addition to our fall diets. Apples contain potassium to keep your heart healthy and your blood pressure down. This is great!–Keeping your insides calm is a great place to begin when it comes to a healthy body. Apples also contain healthy carbohydrates which provide an energy boost, while the skin of apples contain fiber which will provide long- lasting energy.

All apples are great, no matter what the color. You don’t always have to eat apples on their own. Try one of our faves, Apple Toast!

Easy Apple Toast:
– 1 slice whole wheat bread
– 1 tablespoon all natural peanut or almond butter
– Half a medium apple, cored and sliced
– Sprinkle of cinnamon

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spread the nut butter into the whole wheat bread. Place the apple slices on top and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until soft, and you have a delicious sweet treat!

Best part, there is about 6 grams of fiber per piece, yum!!
