Vitamin C Infused Detox Water
After going to the spa, we were inspired to come up with another one of our own cucumber infusers after seeing so many spa-goers resting peacefully with cucumbers over their eyes– and we’re all about the “de-bloating” and “de-puffing” characteristics of cucumbers. Remember our Cool Citrus Cucumber Detox? And since many of you have been requesting drinks that help to flush bloat and slim you down, the registered dietitians in us couldn’t help but start concocting a drink that would answer your prayers! After all, if we are able to help you to feel lighter and better, it makes us super happy! So in honor of cucumber spa treatments and our love of relaxation and spas, we created our take on spa water (face lotion- free, of course! 😉 ). If you typically drink any drink with calories, this is the drink to swap with it! At just 3 calories per drink, you’ll save mega calories–while fighting bloat! Drink this before meals and it will fill you up and help you to eat less at meals. It also rocks when it comes to flushing bloat! (See why below).

Lemon Ginger Detox drink
Here’s How it Works:
Thanks to mint, cucumber, lime and raspberries, you’ll flood your body with anti-aging and disease-fighting phytonutrients and bloat-fighting potassium and water—and the phytonutrients will help to mop up damage caused by free radicals and toxins from processed foods, pollution and stress!
The Water:
You probably know how we feel about water! It’s the most important thing you need to survive! You’ve heard how important it is to stay properly hydrated–but you may not realize some of the reasons why. After all, if you are even slightly dehydrated (just 1% of your body weight), you’ll feel sluggish (you’re less likely to get to the gym if you’re feeling wiped out—and even if you do get there, you likely won’t work as hard).
Of course, less movement and eating more both spell trouble for your waistline!
You can easily mistake thirst for hunger. (We see this happen often; you’re dehydrated, so you crave energy and you think you’re hungry. Guess what? You crave sugar!–eeks! Drink water instead and you’ll notice you have fewer sugar cravings!)
Many times constipation (and unsightly gut bulges with it) can be prevented if you simply drink water to get things moving right along in your colon. That’s why we tell you what we do every morning and especially before an event here:
4 Surefire Ways to Get to the Event Bloat Free
So don’t let dehydration happen to you. If you’re not a water-lover, we made this jazzed up water for ya! Give this water a whirl!
The Mint:
Mint aids digestion and settles the stomach. We add it to everything! Hello Lemon Mint Detox Drink
Mint (and lime!) both contain potassium to help restore normal fluid balance and flush out bloat.
The Raspberries:
Raspberries are both packed with potassium & water—the perfect combo for restoring the body’s normal fluid balance, flushing out excess sodium and the bloat that comes with it.
Raspberries are fiber filled, so they help to keep you regular and flush out any bloat and puffiness from constipation— this is critical–who looks good or feels good when they are constipated?–not us! Hello, Slimming Raspberry Mint Detox Spritzer!
Raspberries help to fight inflammation (calm your insides and protect against damage, keeping you healthier). Remember, an unhealthy diet with saturated fats and toxins creates inflammation, so we always recommend trying to reduce inflammation with brightly colored produce, like raspberries and red peppers–just two of our faves!)
Raspberries contain immune boosting phytonutrients and antioxidants (which can help your body fight off and repair the damage caused by inflammation) and are a great source of vitamin C.
The Lime:
The ideal flushing food–packed with potassium and water to restore normal fluid balance and flush out bloating salt that may be causing you to store water and puffiness. Hello Orange-lime Sparkling Flusher!
Let’s face it, when you don’t eat right and you overindulge in junk, you put your body to the test. Lime gives you a shot of vitamin C and acts as an immune-booster to help strengthen your body after all the havoc it’s just been through.
Helps to neutralize free radicals before they can do any further damage and prevents inflammation so that the body can stay “calm”.
